The Ford Fusion
2010 Motor Trend Car Of The Year

The Ford Fusion has won the 2010 Motor Trend Car Of The Year award. The Ford Fusion Hybrid propulsion is supplied by a combination of two sources. One is an electric motor powered by an innovative nickel metal hydride (NiMH) battery. The other is the next generation of the 2.5L Atkinson Cycle I-4 gas engine which features late intake valve closing (iVCT) as well as advancements in processor technology for seamless transition from electric to gas mode.

The electric motor can propel Fusion Hybrid up to 47 miles per hour in Electric Vehicle mode, faster than any other hybrid vehicle. The gas engine provides the power after 47 miles per hour and when needed, such as quick acceleration situations and hill climbing. Combined power rating of the electric motor and gas engine is 191 net horsepower. The Ford Fusion Hybrid delivers plenty of power. And best of all, it’s the most fuel efficient hybrid sedan in America
